About the role
Based in the U.S., as our Acquisitions & Asset Management Associate, you’ll be working closely with our firm’s CEO to support the implementation of our acquisition strategy across selected U.S. states with scope for asset management input thereafter as we settle in each new property to our portfolio. Travel required, as needed.
What you will be doing
- Sourcing of asset acquisitions both on and off market.
- Tapping (already established specialist broker) networks to identify early/privileged buying opportunities.
- Fostering relationships with key institutional and HNW private investor groups for repeat single and bundle transactions.
- Develop direct relationships with key (asset class specialist) developers to identify forward-commitment opportunities.
- Underwriting (including primary financial modelling of transactions).
- Support in the closing of real estate transactions across the capital structure.
- Support in coordination of the acquisition due diligence process (Tech, Legal, Financial, Tax, Environmental).
- Support in the sourcing, arranging, implementation (and or assumption) of senior debt finance.
- On the ground-representation of our group giving scope to promotion as the portfolio reaches scale.
- Attendance at key industry conferences.
- Assist with the preparation of approval papers for submission to senior investment staff.
- Understand structuring and tax issues related to transactions.
- Participate in management and oversight of a portion of our growing U.S. real estate portfolio, including execution of asset strategy and administrative, financial, capital and operations capacities of the assigned portfolio.
- For any sub-performing investments, participate in the development of strategy to improve performance and participate in implementing the same.
- Complete lease proposal analyses, including valuation impacts and tenant credit analyses, and assist with lease negotiations.
- Review financial statements and interface with accounting regarding the review and approval of cash distributions and monthly capital funding requests.
- Conduct return on cost analyses for capital projects, including renovation programs.
- Perform in-depth market research, analyze market data and track real estate market dynamics relevant to property performance.
You have the following
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in either business, real estate, valuation, accounting or any related field.
- 10 years+ working experience in the capital markets/agency environment or in a similar previous role.
- Strategic thinker. Good negotiator. People person, self-driven with developed interpersonal skills.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills; Yardi experience a plus.
- An entrepreneurial ethos and ability to self-perform, prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong teaming and collaboration skills, including virtual collaboration with colleagues in multiple locations.
- Ability to deliver and interpret qualitative and quantitative research data and synthesize information into meaningful and actionable recommendations and results.
- Familiarity with a range of real estate asset types including lab, office, residential (including affordable), hotel and retail / restaurant uses.
- Strong time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities & meet deadlines with keen attention to detail.
- Flexible, composed, and able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously while confidently interacting with individuals across all levels of the organization and externally.
- Thorough and accurate and takes ownership of every task assigned, ensuring its successful completion.
- Sense of humour with outside interests.

Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results. Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $75,000 and $90,000.
Discretionary bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, shall be determined based on company and individual performance.
Our hybrid work model
Our current hybrid work model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while supporting increased flexibility for our people. In line with U.S. health guidance and regulations, employees are required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week.
